Session 1 (The Abandoned Mine)

NOTE: Die rolls are just die rolls and I will (and have) fudge a roll or two if it helps tell the story I want to tell. The story is more important than the mechanics or “winning” the game. Mechanics are there to assist in telling the story. The characters for the story I want to tell and what I have “rolled” up are heroic characters (a cut above your average person walking the streets but they don't know that yet). All character Stats are based on actual dice rolls on the Background, Motivation, Class, and Starting equipment tables. In the end, I feel it will wash out and tell a great story. – The Storyteller

The start of a new week with a new crew. Lars assembled the crew aboard the Starbound Reckoning to discuss their new opportunities.

Lars tells everyone that he's going to find some work so they can earn some credits and he strongly suggests that everyone find something productive to do while he's gone.

Valeri said “I'm headed out to shoot some Sand Runners in the warehouse district. I'll be back later”. Phil speaks up and says “That sound like fun. Mind if I join you?”. “Not at all.” Valeri says.

Aden stands up. Looks at Khivrak and Narira and says “I'm headed downtown. I know a guy who knows a guy. Maybe I'll find something useful.” and he leaves.

Khivrak simply stands up and walks out behind Aden.

Narira stands up and leaves as well.

Later that evening…

Valeri and Phil were the first to return to the ship. They were discussing the importance of “leading your target” and by how much when Aden returned carrying a MASSIVE Krogan Hammer.

“Where did you get that thing!” Valeri explaimed.

“I traded a Volus Merchant who seemed desperate to trade. I mean I gave him that Polaris Tool junk for this thing!”. Aden said excitedly

“You do realize that a Krogan Hammer is indeed a rare find. What's even more rare, is finding a working Krogan Hammer. Phil said. “Ha! Jokes on him then. That Onmi-Tool was busted!” said Aden

“I guess we'll see what Khivrak has to say when she returns.” Valeri said.

When Khivrak returns, she let Aden know that for a human to be in possession of a working Krogan Hammer, that human must take it from an elder Krogan Warlord after taking his life. She laughed loudly and gave him the bad news that he was in possession of a non-working Krogan Hammer possibly discarded by its previous owner on the field of battle when it malfunctioned. The fact that a Volus merchant was willing to part with it for the mear price of an Omni-Tool, working to not working, should have been his first clue that the Krogan Hammer was non-functional.

Mission Briefing

In the shadowed reaches of the Nubian Expanse, where power and secrets intermingle, Captain Haymore, the esteemed emissary of the mighty Nubian Group, sent forth a clarion call across the vast expanse of space surrounding the enigmatic planet of Yamm. Whispers of a job of paramount importance beckoned the bravest souls.

Among those answering the siren's call was Captain Lars Pine, whose reputation echoed in the distant corners of galaxies. With a voice of urgency and concern, Captain Haymore revealed a most unsettling tale. Deep within Yamm, in the haunted chambers of an abandoned Eezo mine, a discovery of monumental significance had been made: an artifact whispered to be of Prothean origin, hidden in the belly of the planet for eons.

A salvage crew, seduced by the lure of the artifact, ventured into the mine's dark abyss, their mission to carve a path to the ancient relic. Yet, an ominous silence hung in the air as days turned into weeks. No word, no sign of the brave souls who delved into the mine's heart.

Now, Captain Haymore beseeches Captain Pine and his intrepid crew not for conquest, but for truth. To plunge into the depths, uncover the mystery of the vanished crew, and return with tales of their fate. The Nubian Expanse waits with bated breath.
