| Asari (Species) | The Asari, native to the planet Thessia, are often considered the most influential and respected sentient species in the galaxy, and are known for their elegance, diplomacy, and biotic aptitude. |
| Assault Rifle | Assault rifles are one of the primary weapons in the universe. Extensively used by factions across the galaxy, assault rifles generally offer mid-range stopping power, and more accuracy than submachine guns. |
| Avenger | A common, versatile, military-grade assault rifle. The M-8 Avenger is accurate when fired in short bursts, and deadly when fired on full auto. The Avenger is effective at penetrating shields, armor, and biotic barriers. |
| Batarians | A race of four-eyed bipeds native to the world of Khar'shan, the batarians are a disreputable species that chose to isolate itself from the rest of the galaxy. |
| Big Bad Guy | The “BBG” typically refers to the biggest, baddest enemy on the battlefield. May or may not be a Boss-level enemy. |
| Citadel | Supposedly constructed by the long-extinct Protheans, this colossal deep-space station serves as the capital of the Citadel Council. |
| Colwrath | An exotic plant native to worlds in the Nubian Expanse. It is known for its “enlightening” properties and collectors have been known to pay a lot of credits to acquire one. |
| Credit | A generic Council-backed form of monetary unit, credits are accepted virtually everywhere, and can be traded for most goods. |
| Credit Chip | Common transportation method of galactic currency. Credit Chips are non-traceable forms of currency and are favored by mercenaries and others that wish to hide transactions from authorities. |
| Drell (Species) | The Drell are a reptile-like race that was rescued from their dying homeworld by the Hanar following first contact between the two. |
| Elcor (Species) | The elcor are a Citadel species native to the high-gravity world Dekuuna. |
| Eezo | Element Zero, also known as “eezo”, is a rare material that, when subjected to an electrical current, releases dark energy which can be manipulated into a mass effect field, raising or lowering the mass of all objects within that field. |
| Exotic Finds | Refers to items not necessarily native to the world in which they are found. Can sometimes mean rare items or species. |
| Geth (Species) | The geth are a race of networked artificial intelligence that resides beyond the Perseus Veil. |
| Gravitational Waves | Gravitational waves are waves of the intensity of gravity that are generated by the accelerated masses of an orbital binary system, and propagate as waves outward from their source at the speed of light. They were first proposed by Oliver Heaviside in 1893 and then later by Henri Poincaré in 1905 as waves similar to electromagnetic waves but the gravitational equivalent. |

| Katana | The M-23 Katana is a common military shotgun. Deadly at short range, but ineffective at long range. Very effective versus shields and biotic barriers, but weak versus armor. |
| Kodiak | The UT-69 Kodiak Drop Shuttle is a personnel carrier capable of planetary flight and is capable of limited FTL travel. |
| Krogan (Species) | The Krogan are a species of large reptilian bipeds native to the planet Tuchanka, a world known for its harsh environments, scarce resources, and an overabundance of vicious predators. |
| Krogan Hammer | A brutal weapon, the incredible force of this mechanized hammer is enhanced by precision pistons and mass effect fields. |
| Krogan Warlord | Warlords are tougher than the average Krogan enemies and should be treated appropriately. |
| Omni-Distractor | An Omni-Tool upgrade program (3 slots are required for installation). Used by combat forces to “Distract” their opponent to allow them the upper hand. |
| Omni-Tool | Omni-tools are multipurpose diagnostic and manufacturing tools as well as computers used for a variety of civilian and battlefield tasks, such as hacking, decryption, or repair. |
| Predator | The M-3 Predator is a reliable, accurate sidearm. Effective against armor; weak against shields and biotic barriers. |
| Protheans | The Protheans are an ancient alien race that mysteriously vanished over 50,000 years ago. The Protheans arose from a single planet and developed an immense galaxy-wide empire encompassing many other spacefaring species. Not much is known about them, but many of their artifacts, ruins, and technology have apparently survived the ages. |
| Quarian (Species) | The Quarians are native to the planet Rannoch and are a humanoid alien race known for their skills with technology and synthetic intelligence. |
| Remnant | The Remnant are the remaining Indoctrinated species from across the galaxy who were not eradicated by the end of the Reaper War. |
| Saber | A heavy-duty semi-automatic rifle favored by only the most elite marksman, the M-99 Saber is jokingly referred to as “The Big Iron” for its sheer stopping power. |
| Salarian (Species) | Salarians are warm-blooded amphibians native to the planet Sur'Kesh. Salarians possess a hyperactive metabolism; they think fast, talk fast, and move fast. |

| Suppressor | The M-11 Suppressor is the product of the Alliance's Offensive Handgun Project that developed an infiltration weapon to be used in close-quarters situations where silence is key. The Suppressor features a built-in integral sound moderator that reduces noise and muzzle flash. Civilian variants of the weapon are considered illegal but can be found in some sectors. |

| Vindicator | The M-15 Vindicator is a battle rifle favored by assassins and elite mercenaries that fires in highly accurate five-round bursts and can be pulsed for rapid fire. Deadly at any range, and effective against armor, shields, and biotic barriers. |
| Volus (Species) | Volus hail from Irune, which possesses a high-pressure greenhouse atmosphere able to support ammonia-based biochemistry. Volus mostly make their influence felt through trade and commerce, and they have a long history on the Citadel. |
| Vorcha (Species) | Known for their unique biology and aggressive behavior, the Vorcha of Heshtok are a primitive race that lives among the galaxy's darker and more dangerous locations, such as Omega. |
